Happy birthday to US!!! 🎉🎈🍰
These past 11 years feel like a lifetime. I almost don’t remember my life and career before Polkadot bc once it started it just took over and felt like that’s what I was supposed to be doing. Real talk - Owning a business is the hardest thing I have ever done (and I’ve given birth twice and potty trained the most stubborn toddler on the planet). Keeping a business afloat and thriving for over a decade and thru a pandemic, constantly reinventing the wheel to come up w new ideas for catering menus, learning new social media tactics to stay relevant (ok fine almost learning- old dog, new tricks), and… the people. In 11 years I‘ve collected my fair share of people stories - but the good ones… I’ve had / have employees who have become friends and near family, ones who care about the business and the people in it, showing up and staying late on busy weeks, finding ways to make crazy design ideas come to life (hi 3ft paw patrol tower), replying “we got this” to panicked texts abt overbooked weeks, allowing me to have some semblance of work / life balance and not having to worry while my eyes aren’t personally on an order or I’m not personally answering an email. These are the people who keep Polkadot going day to day, and these are the people worth celebrating! Polkadot is not just me- it hasn’t been in years. It’s all of us. And it’s all of you who order that keep us going. I’m incredibly grateful to continue to do what I love after all this time and I know how lucky I am. ❤️ So, THANK YOU! Here’s to another decade or two or three 😉
